Randi Flanagan is a weird Canadian, writer of dark comedy, and co-founder of This Dark Matter. A fan/geek culture aficionado, she’s a contributor in the pop-culture book Fic: Why Fanfiction is Taking Over the World, and she was interviewed about her fan-writing by the Wall Street Journal. Randi watches zombie movies to relax and spends far too much time musing about vampire sex.
Nicole Wolverton, co-founder of This Dark Matter, is inordinately interested in the things that make normal people uncomfortable. Originally from a small, rural town in northeast Pennsylvania, she fled the deep, dark woods and terrifyingly tall fields of corn to attend Temple University in Philadelphia. She firmly denies ever riding the subway late at night in search of The Midnight Meat Train. Now a freelance writer and nonprofit grant writer, Nicole writes horror and dark thrillers for adults and young adults.
Her first novel, an adult psychological thriller titled THE TRAJECTORY OF DREAMS, was released in March 2013 (Bitingduck Press, ISBN 978-1938463440). Her short fiction has appeared in Jersey Devil Press, The Molotov Cocktail, and Black Heart Magazine, among others. She is represented by Michelle Witte of Mansion Street Literary Management, and she is a member of the Horror Writers Association and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Valerie Noble is fascinated with end of the world scenarios like those presented in Lucifer’s Hammer by Larry Niven and The Road by Cormac McCarthy. She became a food scientist in order to have a marketable skill in the aftermath of an apocalypse. She might be a doomsday prepper.
Her first novel, The Energy Crusades, is book one of a trilogy which imagines life on Earth after the Great Oil Wars have destroyed most of the planet. It was released in May 2014. Valerie is currently working as an intern for a literary agency and hopes to become an agent in the near future. She is represented by Stacey Donaghy of Donaghy Literary Group. You can find her online at her website, Facebook, or Twitter.
